Shutter speed

Your shutterspeed is usually in a fraction but written as the bottom 1/500 (so you'll see it as 500 on your camera but it means 1/500) I do not suggest going below 125 (1/125 of a second) when photographing people, 160 is the lowest ideal but anything below 125 will be blurry with people and children moving or if your hands shake at all.

Indoor shutter speed or LOW LiGHT shutter speed is usually 1/100 sec. or SLOWER. For BRIGHT light you want a FASTER shutter speed 2500 or 5000 (1/2500 or 1/5000 sec)
