Vintage Creative Family Session in the Phoenix Desert

Family dressed in vintage clothes poses in Phoenix desert with found shopping cart and fresh flowers by Creative Phoenix Photographer; Jennifer Lind Schutsky with custom high grain preset.

When Nicholle and I started chatting about creating a unique photoshoot experience for her family, I knew I wanted to use the shopping cart I found in my kids’ school’s parking lot. It had been sitting there for weeks until one day I had my toyota with me and was able to snag it in the bed of the pickup truck. Fast forward a couple of weeks and we had picked out some wardrobe options together that Nicholle thrifted! She would text me each outfit and I would give feedback - y’all it felt so good to work with a client who trusted my creative visions. And it required me to grow as an artist working with what the client picked out for wardrobe. So much fun collaborating on this one. I stopped by Trader Joe’s for the yellow flowers and baby’s breath, wanted to have some vibrant colors in the shots to accentuate the colors of the outfits. The kids helped set up the shopping cart and metal milk crate (which by the way is my favorite way to include the kiddos). I always give them a super easy helpful ‘job’ on set so they feel involved, seen and appreciated. I love this first black and white shot because it’s the moment before the shoot and dad is working, mom is still getting dressed - we always take care of others before ourselves it seems. And the kiddos are ready and curious for what comes next, want to see for yourself…
