Pompeii Travel Photography | Storytelling Travel Photography with an iphone in Italy

Pompeii was on our list for our Summer in Italy because of the allure of Mt. Vesuvius and the gorgeous yet terrifying experience of living near an active volcano.

We knew that we wanted to go to this location and see the preservation of the historic site. We also looked up Pompeii before we got there to see that the small town is a really beautiful area full of restaurants, shops and gelato desserts.

We knew we wanted to spend the day here and take the train into Pompeii so we left from Naples and caught the train and I booked. I think a six or eight hour day because of the way that the trains travel from Pompeii. It's not an ongoing back-and-forth they usually just have like one in the morning and one in the evening and Pompeii did not take us the full time actually seen the historic site, but it did give us a little extra time to walk around after exploring the historic space and museum and then go for a snack for gelato and kind of just walk around.

I think I would've liked it a little more if we had stayed at a hotel in Pompeii so that when we were done with the site tour that we could've gone back to our hotel room as opposed to keeping ourselves busy for the rest of the afternoon. If you are going to Italy, you definitely want to make sure that this is on your list, it's very humbling to see the historic site and city of what was there what still preserved there and what happened to the people there. I think that Pompeii is a really special place that deserves reverence and respect and if you scroll down, you'll see a recap of our day as best I could tell the story of both Pompeii and our families travel through southern Italy as we reconnect with my husband's and Homeland.
