Alex and Lena got married at Mountain Shadows Resort in Paradise Valley with the guest list of close family and friends. It was an intimate ceremony with views of Camelback Mountain. Mountain Shadows Resort in Paradise Valley is one of my favorite venues not only as a photographer but it's one of the best locations to stay at when visiting the Phoenix area. In fact, we plan our anniversary staycation here often just because the entire resort is a gorgeous backdrop and welcoming space and pet friendly.

Alex and Lena were such a fun couple to work with their style was iconic with a retro feel. It's quite obvious that this couple is obsessed with the 60s and any of that retro vibe. They even had a real disc jockey with actual records as opposed to digital DJ. Lena's style was impeccable from her rhinestone shoes to her beehive partial up do. We loved Alex’s floral causal button up shirt and the attention to every detail that felt exactly like THEM!

Because let's be honest the thing that makes her wedding Pinterest or Instagram worthy is how well you show off your authentic self through the things you choose. Anytime you find an image that is iconic or interesting or translating on social media it's because the couple came through so clearly in their design elements.

Also make sure you hire a photographer that understands your vision and is capable of achieving the shots you want in the style that you like someone who is willing to take risks and try new things while ensuring that their skills are on par with what you are demanding as a client. This couple wanted to have some playful posing and nontraditional shots along with a few classic poses with family and more of a candid vibe during the reception and cocktail hour which I think we nailed.
