Wandering New York: A Photographer’s Guide to Letting Go of the Itinerary and All the Food
We had a couple days in NYC without kids and while I wish I could say we had an epic itinerary with nonstop adventures and food recommendations - we didn’t.
We took it easy, walked around and enjoyed where we ended up. The Husband grew up going to NYC in the summers of his childhood and I’ve been enough times to no longer feel the need to do tourist things.
Our first stop off the red-eye was Chelsea Market after dropping our bags off at the hotel, then a quick walk up to the Highline. An early morning blur of espresso, breakfast bagels, and waking up our legs after the flight. I kept my camera close but didn’t overthink it.
The best camera is the one you have in front of you. Sometimes I took photos on my phone and other times on my digital or film camera.
We also hit up the New York Public Library (museum)
& we went to a former student’s wedding, Husband definitely got sick of me photographing everything, but I can’t help it, I’m a documenter! 🤷🏽♀️
