Large extended family session in the superstition mountains by Jennifer Lind Schutsky
One of my favorite things about being a photographer is having people message you, that we’re not on your radar. They’re not people you view as potential clients. They’re just people that you’ve known in your life and are friends or acquaintances and out of the blue they’ll message you and ask you if you’re available to take their photos.
And it just brings me so much joy to know that people remember and think of my work in those moments and thankfully I am able to have a flexible schedule which allows me to take those photos for people usually when this kind of thing happens. Natalie reached out to me and asked if I would be available for a last minute photo session of her large extended family. Everybody was in town and it just worked out to get those photos done together as a big group and I love how these images turned out the weather was perfect.
It was a little bit cloudy. Oftentimes, people think that if it’s raining or cloudy out that your photos are not going to look good, but it’s honestly just such good lighting and it makes it a little bit more exciting. And dramatic. I love how these photos turned out at the Superstition Mountains. We were in the lost Dutchman State Park, and, well, I’ll let you see for yourself…
I always love to keep a random photo of myself in the gallery, it’s like an artist signing their work, proof I was there as the photographer, this wide angle lens is so much fun and always ends up capturing me in the chaos.
