Summer was weird. Let’s Discuss…

Summer went by too quickly IMO, The eclipse wiped me out energetically (even though I didn’t see it where I live) and it rearranged a LOT of my life without me having to do really anything, it was like my thoughts, goals and desires just synced right up, but not without a little exhaustion and depletion. Has that ever happened to you, unexplained tired, big emotions? And then you read the astrology reports and everything makes more sense?

Then, after all the summer travels and scraping by with our limited summer income, we finally made it to back-to-school season.  I teach art part time and it feels so good to be back to an organized schedule. I can’t wait to show you all what we create this year!

Photography

In photo land, I’ve been doing my own studies as a student of the artist collective Memory Cult and I’ve been pushing myself assignment wise to create. I know that creativity is a muscle and it must be flexed to continue to grow. You can see all my current work on Instagram (for now).

I’m also excited about all the families that have already scheduled their Fall Family Sessions with me and if you haven’t yet you can sign up for my October 18 Mini Session date! Outdoor Central Phoenix.

Henna

I will be doing Henna on September 6, 20, and 25 at private events.

I will be in Hawaii available for henna as well at the end of the month, just reply to this email if you want to book something while I’m there (Kauai). Tell your friends if they're there.

As always, you can purchase Henna Cones here. Or my Henna Book here!

Art Land // Hawks and Honey

Prepping for back to school Art lessons! Here’s a few projects I’m thinking about teaching, if you were a student, which one would you want to make?

Fav Recipe This Month

My favorite recipe this month is this white bean french onion soup which came from the NYT recipes here.

Books I’m reading…

I just finished Before We Were Innocent by Ella Berman and I have lots of thoughts - it wasn’t a complex read but I did find myself thinking about it a lot after I finished each chapter and after the end, so if anyone else wants to chat about it, please let me know!  If you have suggestions for books I’m always accepting recommendations as well!

Dolly Parton's Songteller audio book - you gotta listen to this one.

The Paradise Problem - a quick cute beach read.

Now Booking Fall Mini Sessions

Because holiday card season sneaks up on all of us. It's my favorite time of year for Family photos because the weather is actually really truely cooling off and I only have limited availability during the weeks remaining since weddings and events have all my weekends booked until December. Do not skip the memories this year.
